The Energy Workshop: Science and Technology in Sergipe 2023, held this August 15th, at the Innovation Center of Universidade Tiradentes (Unit) Farolândia, brought together a notable group of stakeholders in the Oil, Gas, and Energy sector. The event, organized in partnership with Sergipe Oil&Gas, marked a collaboration between the Technological and Research Institute (ITP), Universidade Unit, and Tiradentes Innovation Center, bringing forward crucial discussions for the development of these sectors in Sergipe and the Northeast.
In his speech, Paulo do Eirado, the CEO of ITP, emphasized the importance of the event in strengthening the bonds between ITP and the oil, gas, and energy sectors, which play a significant and robust role in the Sergipe scenario. He highlighted that the collaboration between these institutions represents a unique opportunity to showcase the Institute and the Tiradentes group through Universidade Unit and the Tiradentes Innovation Center. He added: "These structures are dedicated to the development of this field in Sergipe, the Northeast, and even the country. We have state-of-the-art laboratories and spaces with renowned researchers capable of supporting all development in our state."
The presence of the Director of ANP - National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels, Symone Araújo, was one of the main highlights of the event. She expressed her positive impact upon witnessing the ongoing projects and initiatives, highlighting her admiration for the commitment of students and professors in delivering technology and innovation to society. Symone emphasized: "It is particularly significant to see the research and development clause being applied concretely, producing new capabilities, knowledge, and solutions for the industry."
Marcos Wandir Nery, Director of Academic Operations at Grupo Tiradentes, emphasized the consolidation of forces from the institutions to meet local and national demands: "Today, we are joining forces - Unit, ITP, and Tiradentes Innovation Center - with a common purpose of building a model that serves the demands of our state, region, and country. Energy, which drives the world, is one of the themes that unites these three institutions within Universidade Tiradentes."
Marcelo Dósea, Coordinator of Tiradentes Innovation Center, reinforced the relevance of involving society and companies in the university environment, especially in the critical areas of oil, gas, and energy: "It is crucial to bring society and companies into the university environment, especially in the vital area of oil, gas, and energy." He highlighted the contribution of engineering courses, both in undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the importance of research conducted at ITP and innovation initiatives at the Innovation Center.
The Energy Workshop: Science and Technology in Sergipe 2023 marks a significant step in the collaboration between educational and research institutions and the industry, aiming to drive innovation, knowledge, and development in the Oil, Gas, and Energy sectors.
